Come to the Temple!

Everything we do in our church points to the temple. Not only are temple ordinances necessary for exaltation, there are incredible blessings that come to us in this earth life from regular, sincere worship in the temple. We encourage you to look up and study a talk entitled "Honorably Hold a Name and a Standing" given by Elder David Bednar at the April 2009 General Conference (May 2009 Ensign). We have decided as a presidency to commit to a regular temple attendance schedule in order to have the strength and other promised blessings of the temple in our lives. The desire for these blessings is not just for our own lives, but it extends to each of you. We invite you to join us as often as possible in the temple. As we dedicate ourselves to regular temple worship, we will increase our worthiness for blessings that will support and strengthen us against the raging adversity that surrounds us. If you are not a current temple recommend holder, we invite you to do whatever it takes to become worthy of one. Please let us know how we can help you to achieve this.

Our weekly temple schedule is listed below and also posted on this blog on the right column. All temple sessions will be at the Jordan River Temple.

After reviewing Sister Julie Beck's new Relief Society guidelines in the March Ensign, the Relief Society Presidency has determined that focus groups no longer fall under the umbrella of the Relief Society. The name "Home, Family and Personal Enrichment" has been changed so that all Relief Society meetings are called just that, "Relief Society Meetings." These meetings will be held at least quarterly, but more often if the Presidency decides it is beneficial to the RS members. The focus groups that are already running regularly, like the Book Club and Quilting & Sewing Group can continue to function as neighborhood activities. We will happily announce their activities in RS, on the bulletin and on this blog. Our next Relief Society Meeting, "Dinners at Home" will be held on Wednesday, May 5th. Details about upcoming meetings can be found on the Meetings & Activities page on this blog.

Welcome! The purpose of this blog is to keep you informed and give you access to a lot of information in one place. If you have suggestions, please let Tracy know! This blog is for your benefit, so let me know what you like, what you don't like, and what you would like to see.

If you know someone who is not able to make it to church weekly, but who wants to stay involved and informed, please share this blog with them. It will be updated weekly with a lot of the information that is on our bulletin, including lesson summaries, spiritual thought, birthdays, etc. We will also use this blog to keep you updated on events that come up between Sundays, like funerals, service opportunities, etc.

Take a few minutes to explore the blog and familiarize yourself with it. We are excited to have some new focus groups up and running. Please see the Focus Groups page for more information.
Again, if you have suggestions, speak up!
